چکیده

A field experiment was conducted during post rainy seasons of 2015–16, 2016–17 and 2017–18 (December-March) at research farm Tamil Nadu Rice Research Institute, Aduthurai, to study the impact tillage practices adopted in rice (Oryza sativa L.) crop on succeeding blackgram (Vigna mungo grown as relay cropping. The treatment comprised 2 (puddled non-puddled), 3 seed priming methods (Bio-seed with Rhizobium, hydropriming no priming) foliar spray (2% DAP 2% urea). results indicated though puddled registered higher values Relative water content (RWC) (83.06 83.72%), Specific leaf weight (SLW) (6.83 6.28 g/cm2), Soil Plant AnalysisDevelopment chlorophyll meter (40.88 39.75) 30 45 DAS respectively, it comparable non-puddled method. However, sown transplanted a greater number nodules (23.67 17.44) dry (0.17 0.11 g) respectively compared transplanting. Similarly, root length (6.93 8.62 cm) (0.151 0.174 g respectively) were also tillage. yield obtained under system 11.8% than method system. Bio-seed rhizobium had growth parameters, which eventually resulted 25.0% increase over priming. As far concerned, Urea did not differ significantly for none parameters except yield.

Correlation coefficient and path analysis studies was conducted with eight parents and their 28 F1 crosses for twelve component characters including seed yield and revealed significant positive association of pods per plant, harvest index and clusters per plant with seed yield in parental generation whereas in F1 generation, significant positive association of clusters per plant, pods per plant...

Genetic divergence, variability and character association in landraces of blackgram (Vigna Mungo [L.] Hepper) from Odisha

155 Blackgram or urdbean (Vigna mungo [L.] Hepper) is an important grain legume with easily digestible protein and low flatulence contents. It is highly prized pulse, rich in phosphoric acid. Grain of Black gram grain contains about 25% protein, 56% carbohydrate, 2% fat, 4% minerals and 0.4% vitamins. Urd is said to have originated in India where it is most widely grown and highly esteemed grai...

Inheritance of Qualitative Traits and Their Linkage in Blackgram [vigna Mungo (l.) Hepper]

Four parents (Mash 1, Mash 3, MM 33-40, and 45726) were used to study inheritance of four qualitative characters, i.e., pubescence, seed coat colour, presence of spots on the seed coat and pod colour. All the four traits revealed monogenic nature of inheritance segregating in Mandelian ratio (3:1). The hairiness pattern was observed dominant over non-hairiness; brown seed coat colour dominant o...

Development of Transformation Methods for Blackgram (Vigna mungo) for Biotic/Abiotic Stress Tolerance

Pulses are a major source of dietary protein for the largely vegetarian population of India. However, the production of pulses is limited because of heavy losses due to biotic (viral) and abiotic stresses such as salinity of the soil. Therefore, the present proposal is aimed at overcoming this problem in Vigna mungo (black gram) by introducing the glyoxylase1 (gly1) gene, the over-production of...
